The Leicester and District Representative structure is a voluntary set-up that is ran, funded and overseen by the Leicester and Schools District Football Association. Tim Foster is the Honorary Secretary of the organisation, with Ryan Haycock running the representative football structure.
The idea of the district set-up, is to offer youngsters in the city the chance to represent Leicester (as a district). They way in which we work is, we will go to different schools games/league games to build up a small portfolio of players in each age group that are good enough to play at district level. We also receive nominations from heads of P.E and football across primary and secondary schools in Leicester. Once they have been identified, they will attend 1 sessions per month on a Friday and play fixtures arranged. These players will then have the opportunity to play against other districts across the country and enter into Schools FA tournaments etc. These players must be in Leicester City District, not County as they will have their own separate district (unless they have no active district).
We are committed to supporting the youngsters of the city to take their chances and give them a platform in which they can show their skills and qualities. Even if that only means they become excellent grass-roots’ players, every part of improvement is important in the goals of Leicester and District Schools F.A.
